CALIN Privacy Policy Effective date: October 3, 2026 Last updated: October 3, 2026 CALIN ("CALIN", "The Monitoring System") is an industrial energy monitoring, device management, notification, and control application provided by Calton Energy Pvt. Ltd, operating on Google Play under the developer name Ajit Paul Abraham ("we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what information CALIN accesses or collects, why it is used, how it is handled, when it may be shared, how long it may be retained, and the choices available to users. By using CALIN, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy. 1. Information CALIN May Collect or Access Account and profile information CALIN may process information associated with an authorized user account, including username, display name, email address, phone number, user role, organization, assigned sites, assigned devices, and other account attributes configured by the organization operating the CALIN service. Passwords are used for authentication. CALIN is designed not to persist the user's password as ordinary application preference data. Authentication credentials or tokens that need to remain on the device may be stored using operating-system protected secure storage such as Android Keystore or Apple Keychain. Authentication and session information CALIN may process authentication tokens, session information, account identifiers, authorization roles, and access permissions required to authenticate the user and determine which sites, devices, controls, or administrative functions the user may access. Device and application information CALIN may collect or transmit limited information about the phone or tablet on which it is installed, such as operating system, device model, application version, platform, a randomly generated CALIN installation identifier, notification registration information, and diagnostic information required for application operation, compatibility, security, or troubleshooting. CALIN does not use the randomly generated installation identifier for advertising. Push-notification information CALIN uses push notifications for operational messages such as equipment alarms, power events, communication failures, system events, chat notifications, and other alerts enabled for the user's account. For this purpose, the App may obtain and transmit a Firebase Cloud Messaging registration token and related device/application identifiers to the CALIN backend. These identifiers are used to deliver CALIN notifications and are not used by CALIN for advertising. Site, equipment, and telemetry information CALIN is designed to monitor and manage industrial energy and IoT equipment. The App may therefore process information associated with customer sites and equipment, including site identifiers, device identifiers, device names, equipment status, alarms, operational states, electrical measurements, energy measurements, battery information, inverter information, power information, historical telemetry, commands, configuration information, and related operational records. This information primarily relates to industrial equipment rather than an individual's personal activity. However, where site or device information can be associated with an identifiable user or organization, we protect it as account or customer information. Device-control activity When an authorized user performs an equipment-control action, CALIN may transmit and record information about that action, including the target site or device, requested command, user or account associated with the request, time of the request, command result, and related system response. This information may be retained for system operation, troubleshooting, security, authorization, accountability, and audit purposes. Chat and communication content If CALIN's communication or chat features are used, we may process messages and related metadata such as sender, recipient or conversation, message time, delivery status, unread status, and associated account information. Chat information is used to provide the communication feature and may be retained on CALIN servers according to the applicable organization's retention requirements. Location information CALIN may request access to device location when location is required for a user-initiated function such as installing, provisioning, registering, identifying, or associating industrial equipment with a site. Depending on the device, operating-system permissions, and CALIN configuration, this may include approximate or precise location. Location information is used only for CALIN operational functions such as device or site provisioning and is not used for advertising or user profiling. CALIN does not use location information for advertising. Wi-Fi and local-network information During device provisioning or configuration, CALIN may access information about the phone's current Wi-Fi connection, such as Wi-Fi network name (SSID), network state, and local-network connectivity. Where the user explicitly configures an IoT or industrial device to join a Wi-Fi network, CALIN may temporarily process the Wi-Fi credentials entered by the user for the purpose of transmitting those credentials to the device being configured. CALIN does not use Wi-Fi information for advertising. The App may also communicate with equipment on a local network or temporary device access point as part of a user-initiated provisioning process. Notifications and alarm history CALIN may store notification and alarm information locally on the device and/or on CALIN servers so users can review operational events. This may include alert title, message, severity, site, device, time, status, acknowledgement state, and related operational information. 2. How We Use Information Information processed by CALIN is used to authenticate users, enforce permissions, display assigned sites and equipment, provide current and historical telemetry, operate device-management features, execute authorized equipment commands, provision devices, deliver alarm and operational notifications, provide chat or communication functions, maintain system security, diagnose technical problems, maintain audit records, and improve reliability and compatibility. We do not use CALIN account information, industrial telemetry, location information, Wi-Fi information, chat content, or equipment information for behavioral advertising. 3. Information Sharing CALIN does not sell personal information. Information may be processed by infrastructure and service providers that are necessary to operate CALIN. Google Firebase CALIN uses Google Firebase services, including Firebase Cloud Messaging, to provide push notifications. As part of providing these services, Google may process device, application, and notification-delivery information in accordance with Google's applicable terms and privacy policies. CALIN backend and hosting infrastructure Information required to provide CALIN services may be transmitted to servers operated by or on behalf of Calton Energy. This may include account information, authentication information, site/device information, telemetry, alarms, chat messages, notification tokens, provisioning information, and command records. Infrastructure hosting, database, networking, backup, or cloud service providers may process information solely as required to provide their services to us. Customer or organization administrators Where CALIN is provided as part of an organization's industrial or energy-management system, authorized administrators of that organization may have access to account details, assigned sites, equipment information, operational records, command history, alarms, and communications where required for their role. Legal and security requirements We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, enforceable governmental request, protect users or systems, investigate abuse or security incidents, or protect the rights, safety, and property of CALIN, its users, customers, or others. We do not share personal information with third parties for their own advertising purposes. 4. Data Security We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. CALIN uses operating-system protected secure storage for sensitive authentication material that must remain on the mobile device. Access to backend information is restricted according to authenticated user accounts, roles, site assignments, and device permissions. Production network communications carrying personal or sensitive information should use secure encrypted transport such as HTTPS/TLS. No electronic storage or transmission mechanism can be guaranteed to be completely secure, and users should also protect their device credentials and CALIN account credentials. 5. Data Retention We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including providing CALIN services, maintaining authorized industrial records, satisfying customer requirements, resolving technical or security issues, complying with legal obligations, and maintaining appropriate audit records. Account and authorization information may be retained while an account remains active. Operational telemetry, alarms, device-control records, site information, and other industrial records may be retained according to the applicable site's or customer's configured operational and regulatory requirements. Push-notification registration identifiers may be retained while an installation remains registered to receive CALIN notifications and may be removed or replaced when the application is unregistered, reinstalled, or the user signs out or removes the device as applicable. Some information may remain temporarily in backups until normal backup-retention cycles expire. 6. Account and Data Deletion Users may request deletion of their CALIN account and associated personal information by contacting ajit@caltonenergy.com or by using an account-deletion mechanism provided by CALIN where available. We will verify the request as reasonably necessary to protect the account from unauthorized deletion. Following a valid deletion request, personal information associated with the account will be deleted or anonymized unless retention is required for legal, security, contractual, fraud-prevention, industrial audit, or regulatory purposes. Certain operational records, such as equipment-control audit logs, may need to be retained where they form part of an organization's required security, safety, or operational record. Where such retention is necessary, access will remain restricted and the information will not be used for unrelated purposes. Users should contact their organization administrator where their CALIN account is managed by an employer, customer, or other organization. 7. Permissions Used by CALIN CALIN may request permissions such as network access, notification permission, local-network access, Wi-Fi/network information access, and location permission. Permission availability and behavior vary by Android or iOS version. Users may manage application permissions through their device settings, although disabling a permission may prevent the CALIN feature that depends on it from functioning. 8. Children's Privacy CALIN is an industrial and business-oriented application and is not designed for children. We do not knowingly use CALIN to collect personal information from children for advertising or consumer profiling purposes. Organizations providing CALIN access are responsible for ensuring that accounts are assigned to appropriate authorized users. 9. International Processing Depending on the location of the user, customer, CALIN backend infrastructure, and service providers, information may be processed in a country different from the country in which it was originally collected. Where applicable, we take reasonable steps to protect information in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable data-protection requirements. 10. Third-Party Services CALIN may rely on third-party platform services such as Google Firebase and operating-system services supplied by Google or Apple. Those services may process certain information under their own privacy policies and contractual terms. CALIN does not control independent data-processing activities performed directly by those platform providers. 11. Changes to This Privacy Policy We may update this Privacy Policy when CALIN functionality, data practices, legal obligations, or third-party services change. When material changes are made, the "Last updated" date at the beginning of this policy will be revised. Where required, additional notice may be provided through the App or associated service. 12.
